How to Clean Shower Glass and Slow Down Soap Scum

Why shower glass turns cloudy

Shower glass usually becomes cloudy because water, soap residue, body oils, and minerals dry on the surface. The glass may still be technically clean in some areas, but the film makes it look dull and harder to maintain.

Start with a gentle clean

Use a non-scratch sponge or microfibre cloth with a bathroom-safe cleaner. Work in sections and allow the product a short dwell time before wiping, especially where the glass looks cloudy. Letting the cleaner sit briefly is often more effective than scrubbing harder.

Rinse and dry the glass

Residue left behind can dry into another film. After cleaning, rinse the glass and dry it with a clean cloth or squeegee so the surface is not left wet.
